Soft Credit Check - Schuh / Klarna

I recently purchased a pair of boots from Schuh. I had the option to open a credit account or pay immediately. I chose to pay immediately.

My credit report arrived and https://www.klarna.com have done a soft credit check on me.

When I eventually tracked down a telephone number for them and spoke to them they told me it was required to check my address for delivery. I have never experienced this before and I shop online regularly.

Whilst I appreciate that no one else can see this........are they allowed to do this?

Thank you.
Completely debt free....including Mortgage.
