Repainting a painted wall

The bathroom was painted by the previous owners. They used dulux bathroom paint (tin left in the house). Although the area around the shower is tiled, the sink has one wall (where the boiler cupboard is) that's just painted and has hair dye stains (courtesy of swmbo). Nothing major but a few fine specs. Where the heavy light pull handle sits also has some wear.
I was planning to repaint in the same colour. Do I need to prep the walls in any way? Sugar soap solution? Just wipe clean? Do I need to do a light sand to key the surface?
Any help would be appreciated.

Just based on my previous bathroom painting disaster, I would light sand and then sugar soap. I didn't sand first and just cleaned and painted....the top coat cracked in some places (and also did not cover that well) and I think it was because I didn't give it a key0

Thanks. I plan to have a go once the weather improves. There's a patch which needs replastering and then I plan to paint the whole thing.0
