we have been waiting weeks - months actually
OH is self employed so obviously we needed to supply figures, accounts etc
then asked for more documentation, and still no answer
    OH reluctant to contact them
what should we be doing? Made the mistake of looking at a review site out of 71 reviews 66 were one star!!!!
I feel sick all the time!

Given the number of mortgages granted every year. 71 reviews suggests that it's not a representative sample. People are more likely to leave reviews when dissatisfied.

I called them on average every other day.
They are on the whole very nice when I speak to them.

we phoned again today, as we submitted all paperwork x2 now and had to send in a sa 03 (self employed tax from accountant) as they emailed to say they hadnt got it (emailed us 30 may) OH phoned today they told him that they dont have it, so another trip to the accountant tomorrow
    its an absolute joke
I have absolutely no confidence in them and it so stressful its unbelievable

71 may not be a representative sample but they are the ones that have taken the time to review I will be joining them soon,

Did you email the form or send by post?
Anything I post which is of that much importance I send via recorded delivery.
However I called and double checked what I needed to send in and I included everything and wrote a cover letter stating what I was included.
I have only been asked for one other piece of information which is a gift form and I've been told I can email that, I will email and post it though.

OH posted it 2 weeks ago, funny that they emailed us to say they needed it but omitted to chase up when it didnt arrive or let us know that they were still waiting for it.
he has to email it tomorrow but another trip out of work time to the accountant
they lost our first lot of paperwork.............
and wanted another copy of all my payslips
now the sa03 its really not funny any more.

Why does he have to take another trip to the accountant?

Every piece of paper I have sent Leeds I have a copy of in a folder, why wasn't the document sent via recorded post?

Sorry but if you are applying for something as important as a mortgage you do need to send via recorded delivery and keep copies.

Post does get lost and bits of papers get lost in all offices not just Leeds. In addition why is up to them to chase you up, I assume that with the volumes of customers they can't chase up everyone for everything, they may just assume you haven't bothered to send in the document, There isn't anything stopping you from calling them up to check everything has been received.

Why didn't you ask them what they wanted before submitting your application.

I have been asked for two things when submitting my application.
    1. Pick a different product (the LTV went down between my DIP and full application) - I ended up with a better rate.
    2. Please send in a gift form (my parents are giving me some money)
One was done via the phone the other via email and post.

Before I submitted my application I asked them (via phone) to go over everything I needed and submitted it all.
