Mr Clutch Review

I visited Mr Clutch in Enfield EN1 on 25/4/17 to get my MOT. Upon testing it the mechanic found the rear reg light bulbs were not working they changed the bulbs & they discovered that only one would light - they then looked at the wiring to the lights and in doing so broke the central locking. 'Steve', then informed me to get the lights fixed within ten days which would allow me to then have a valid MOT. I removed the car and got the lights fixed for £44 by a Vauxhall specialist who told me that Mr Clutch are clowns - they are not qualified to fix any electrical faults and should not tamper with anything they know nothing about. I then returned to the Enfield branch, where they gave me my MOT but refused to fix or compensate me for the broken central locking issue. Furthermore to add insult to injury 'Steve', then asserted that I had brought the car in with the locks broken, when I said that I had not - he said: 'So your calling me a liar'! I found him unprofessional and stupid. I am a Nursery nurse and I drive alone, I feel very unsafe driving & parking anywhere with no locks. I have never experienced a mechanic this incompetent. They have really disappointed me in they way that they handled this problem. I am very disappointed and I will never return to their shoddy outfit. Absolutely terrible, steer well clear!:(

How did they break your central locking by replacing a bulb?

  • I trusted them once to replace a gearbox on a micra for me.

    Never reconnected the reversing light.
  • Mr Clutch has branches all over; good and bad ones so hard to generalise but probably in the same frame as Quick Sh*t, and Hellfrauds.

I could say that about 99% of all main dealer mechanics too, the majority don't seem to know their !!!! from their elbow when it comes to electrics. Very few of them are any good with vehicle electrics other than the basics.
