Opening a second current account

Setting up a second account with my existing bank sounds like a good idea, this way I can then, as EachPenny and a couple of others said, switch to an account with a cashback switching offer. I'll give this a go I think.

Yup, just pointing out that the FlexDirect shouldn't be the first additional account if OP doesn't want to switch the original one.

I'm just in the process of doing this myself - I switched my former current account to nationwide flex direct through the referral deal a few months ago. Today i've opened up a basic flex account with them, which I'm going to switch to either a TSB Classic Plus or First Direct account, and get the bonus from them too! I've became greedy for all these bonuses and rewards after going years without a penny from previous banks! :rofl:
