I'm not sure if this is PPI?

Yesterday I found an old file that contained a load of old Barclaycard statements (from 2004/2005). They all had 'Payment Protection Plan' on them, varying amounts (from £1 to £12 odd - presumably linked the balance at the time).

I also found a separate letter from them, reference the same card number, advising me of 'Card Protection Renewal' for the period June 2005 to June 2006 at £16 for the year. I'm assuming as it was 'renewal', I paid it the previous year as well. Unfortunately I haven't got statements from either year that would show the payment going out for the yearly premium but I have got statements from Apr 2004 to June 2005 that all show the extra monthly 'PPP' payment (over 8 statements I paid about £39 in total).

I also have Barclaycard statements in my husband's name that show the PPP amount too but none that cover a yearly payment.

Additionally I've found an Alliance & Leicester statement from 2007 that shows 'Card Protection' and an amount of £29 - presumably a yearly one.

Now, we have already done the CPP claim and I had another one more recently that I can't remember what it was called (initials beginning with A possibly. I think that was related to an old Egg card that I had).

What I'm not sure about is whether the monthly 'PPP' payments that we were both paying are separate PPI that we still need to claim?

Any ideas?

The PPP will be PPI. You don't need to claim it, but you can put in a complaint if you feel it was mid sold to you.
  • Thanks.

I wasn't even aware I had it, so feel like it wasn't even 'sold'.

I've put in a complaint via this site. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Yet you've put all the detailed statements in a file? Did you not read them?
