One of the reasons I have not moved, is that when I did a comparison, it would have been cheaper to stay with SP, due to the fact that I am entitled to the WHD,
However, I did a search today and found that moving just my electric over to EON would save me £57 a year, with the added bonus of being able to claim the WHD.
Just hoping I pass the EON credit check, then I can move my tariff over to the Standard Tariff.
If EON works out, I can move my GAS over to Zog and save another £13. Why I did not think of this before, I do not know.

Why do you think you need to be on the Standard tariff of any qualifying provider to benefit from the Warm Home Discount?
Nowhere in the documentation for it does it say you have to be on any particular tariff as its the size of the provider and whether you fall into a qualifying group that's more important.
With regards to Zog, you can apply to switch your gas to them now, its entirely separate from electricity and irrelevant to the WHD.0 -
I am on a fixed tariff, so would have £60 exit fees.
If I move over to a non exit fee tariff, this will cost me (comparing my 1 - 14 May usage) £22.04, compared to the £16.31 my current tariff has cost me, so an increase of £5.72 over 14 days. So even allowing for a 28 day transfer time period, I would only pay around £12 extra for leaving.
That is the reason I want to move over to their standard tariff, otherwise, I would be hammered with a £60 leaving fee, which really negates any savings.
I was waiting for EON to confirm, before I made the change, as if for some reason I failed EON's credit check, I would be left on a higher tariff with SP, than I am at the moment.
I also think I did not make myself clear, the reason why I said I would move over the the standard tariff, was to avoid paying exit fees.0 -
But exit fees are not charged if you are in the final 49 days of your fixed tariff. I'm assuming your tariff ends at the end of May so if this is the case you won't be charged £60 anyway.
And Eon's E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v22 tariff is fixed for one year and doesn't have exit fees, and it says its cheaper than the standard tariff.0 -
No my tariff finishes next March, but it is silly if I stay with Scottish Power, when Eon and Zog work out cheaper.
So I could have stayed with SP and paid around £70 more than I needed to, or move to Eon and Zog and either pay the exit fees, which makes it unworthy of the hassle, or move over to SP's standard tariff and pay no exit fee and around an extra tenner in costs, whilst the transfer goes through. The latter I went for.
Eon emailed me this morning to say they had accepted me, so also did the transfer to Zog as well. A saving of around £60 and also have £15 cash back coming my way.0 -

Afternoon SpotlandRules and welcome aboard. Glad all went well with the credit check.
Just thought I'd give you a quick heads up about our Warm Home Discount scheme. Make sure you register for the scheme as soon as your account is up and running. You can do this online through our website.
Although the scheme isn't open yet, we're taking applications now. Don't worry if you don't hear from us straightaway. We're still putting the finishing touches to the scheme and will write to all those registered this summer to let them know the details.
There might also be help available with things like cavity wall and loft insulation through the Energy Company Obligation (ECO). This is a Government led scheme and there are more details on the same website page as the Warm Home Discount.
Hope this is useful SpotlandRules.
