Travel Adaptors. Any advice?

Most of ours are 7.5 amps. A quick google search for european plug adapters seems to show mostly 7.5 amp ones. They're more common than you think!sillygoose wrote: »I have seen 13 and commonly 10 amp rated but not as low as 7.5, 10 is fine for a hairdryer and other items like chargers which are negligible.
Maybe the OP is, but plenty of people aren't and wouldn't even think about the consequences of plugging two high power devices through a 7.5 amp adapter. So I make no apology for pointing it out, just in case the OP or any other reader of this thread isn't aware.I am sure the op would realise just like using extensions at home you can't use lots of powerful appliances on one at once.0 -
We have a number of 'pretty pink' (my choice) travel adapters from £1 shops.
They're great for charging phones etc.
Not used for high voltage stuff though.0 -

Not sure pink would be my colour of choice but I have often thought that it would be a good idea to make these adapters in a bright luminous colour. Over the years the white ones I have purchased get left in hotel plug sockets. If they stood out a little more when doing that final look around the hotel bedroom on departure day then I'm sure I wouldn't lose so many of them.0 -
Thanks for the heads up on safety aspects of using a gang plug socket. I only plan to use for chargers.
I like the sound of coloured adaptors. Off to the shops next week to see what I can find.
Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice.0 -

On groupon they've got a multi USB charger - you can either choose one with 2 or 4 USB ports. These are very useful around the house let alone when you're away.0 -
Why not buy a cheap travel-sized hairdryer abroad, which will come with the correct plug on it? The same one will work in most of Europe. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I probably did - I posted on the bus on the way home from the pub.veryintrigued wrote: »High voltage?
You mean high power or high current.
I meant I've only used them for charging phones, not for anything else.0
