Regular or sprung slats?

Just about to buy a new bedframe for my conventional sprung mattress and there is of course the basic slats and an option for sprung slats for not much extra.
I had a quick try of both sorts in the showroom and coulnd't really tell the difference - I'm guessing you really need to sleep on both with your own or a very similar mattress to appreciate any difference.
Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on which is the most comfortable and is there any real advantage to the sprung slat option?
Thanks
