Agricultural Shows

I've been going to the one local to me since I was a young child but since the venue changed, its gone downhill badly. The crowds are absolutely horrendous. We paid a fortune in, almost £50 for the two of us, and it annoying to not be able to see anything due to the crowds.
Could anyone recommend another one? Anywhere in the U.K. Obviously all these shows are crowded and busy but we'd like to find one where we can still get room to walk about and see things rather than moving inch by inch behind a mass of people. We already go to plenty of county shows/country fairs. I'm looking for a large agricultural show, with an emphasis on showing classes, not just a 'family' orientated day out.
We are considering the Royal Edinburgh/Royal Welsh or the Great Yorkshire show but have concerns that they'll be equally chaotic. Any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated.

The Turra Show is still a vibrant Aberdeenshire institution

If you like trucks, coos n'tractors, the Tarland Show/Tarland Truck Show - takes place in adjacent fields on the same day, in mid August is worth a look.0 -

Like the pic of the Turra coo (with Turra dug!)...but would argue for the Black Isle Show!
Highland Show is still accessable if you go early on the Thursday, I'd avoid the weekend, though.0 -
We went to the Monmouth Show - South Wales, easy M way access, variety of stuff in the main ring & loads going on in side rings (although I missed seeing the sidesaddle class as they kicked off at 8.30am!).
Godfather came with, entered his mutt on the day & won a waggiest tail rosette which delighted all, so some classes were definitely 'impulse friendly' on the day - not sure if that's still the case, but no harm from coming & gawking & listening!
I enjoyed watching sheep being shown (by farmers children, outweighed by their charges in some cases), scurry racing, and had a smashing chat with various folk showing pigs (we agreed pigs could be as rewarding, if not more so, than sons) and then got hauled away by a son acting as message carrier (more effective than a text). Husband got a show deal on some tools, we got an impressive haul of seed garlic species & I loved the parade of all winners around the main ring at 3.
Yes, crowds, and rain, (hey, Wales) but all very good natured & unlike some Highland Shows, splendidly insect free. Food tent, beer tent, crafts tent plus loads of rings of things to watch? Plus change from £30 as we bought the family ticket online ahead of time.
If you want Loads of Big Agricultural Machines check out what's happening, when, at Stoneleigh. I can still remember the taste of diesel & the cricked neck & the glee & awe. It's a show venue so All Sorts of things happen there, Landies one month, glamping the next - but whatever main thing you want it will have A Lot Of.0 -
Tell us which one it is you disliked so much and people will know better what not to suggest.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0
