Travel CC w/o daily ATM limit (monthly or related to credit limit is ok)?

Hi,

Could anyone one advise if there is a travel CC (no non-sterling fee) with free ATM withdrawals (no-ATM fee) and no daily ATM limit?

It does not matter to me if the interest rate is very high, if there is a (reasonable) monthly withdrawal limit (I don't intend to withdraw tens of thousands, I just sometimes need times more than the regular £300-500 daily limit), if the withdrawal limit is related to credit limit (I expect to get a rather high limit).

Preferably MasterCard.

I've checked all the top picks from MSE and it seems all of them have £300-500 daily withdrawal limit. Though I'm not sure as some of them don't have official info available and I've only been able to gather indirect info on the matter.

I understand one can always apply for two cards and withdraw some from one and some from the other but I'd prefer to have one card if it's possible.

Thank you for the help!

I think you will find that all plastic cards have some kind of daily limit for cash.

The cards I have used for getting cash overseas are:

Santander ZERO - no fee, no loading, £300 limit
Halifax Clarity - no fee, no loading, £500 limit
Barclaycard - 2.99% fee, £500 limit, up to 56 days "interest free"

"Somewhere in Asia" I found a bureau de change that would give me cash and put it through as a purchase. He charged 3% for this "service". This would avoid the daily limit and also meant I could get an interest free period plus airmiles.

The limit is calculated by reference to the UK day. So if you are in a different time zone, you can sometimes make one withdrawal in the morning and another in the evening.

If you regularly need large amounts of cash overseas, there maybe other ways that don't involve credit cards....

As a further point, you must never rely on a single card. When abroad, CCs often simply to fail to work. It can be a random IT thing, or CC companies getting suspicious, regardless of whether you've told them in advance of your travel plans.

Even if they work, local networks can impose local limits regardless of the limit on your card. For example, many years ago, most banks in Vietnam limited you to around £80 per card per day and I only found two banks whose ATMs would work with my cards (HSBC and ANZ). It's different now, but depending on where you are going you might hit these issues too.
