Hello All,
I am in the process of taking my ex husbands name off the mortgage and getting a mortgage alone from nationwide, it has been a pain so far, now I have just received a letter saying I need indemnity insurance because theres is a defect in the title??? I am totally lost here, the solicitors have sent this TCS and they want me to either buy it or for them to get me this insurance!
I am a single mum, working and I have saved around £300 to pay for his name to be taken off, how much extra will I need for this insurance and what is it insuring?
hope someone can help me.
thanks in advance Diane x

HI
I called them and because we put the windows in and didn't get a FENSA certificate I need to purchase an indemnity policy £100. so nationwide my new mortgage provider is covered in case they have to fit new windows if they take my house off me, haha even though they are lending me just a third of what the house is worth!
so seems crazy!0 -
