1st Time Completing Claim Form - Help ! ! !

Two problems - 1. I had work carried out on the outside of my house. To cut a long story short, after scaffolding (which had been there for 4 months) was removed I found damage.

I reported this and someone came out to inspect damage, said I was entitled to something, what would I like ?? Totally unprepared, I asked what my options were. Said they would be in touch with options. I now have a claim form to complete, asking when I bought them (windows) and how much I paid and how much am I claiming, also a sky dish, and broken concrete path.

How do I put a price on all this? I have no idea where to start.

2. I also received the bill for works carried out. First on the list of jobs completed was

a) remove furniture and floor coverings (?? above an outside window ??) and place in skip (there wasn't one).

I have asked them to send an itemised bill. Am I within my rights to do this?

Sorry for the long winded post, tried to keep as short as possible - any help appreciated.

If they've sent you a bill for removing furniture / flooring coverings / disposal of such, then I'd have thought you also to be within your right to ask for a copy of the invoice confirming this has been paid, as this clearly hasn't been the case.

Regarding the claim form, are you able to get independent quotes on the path / dish etc. from local tradespeople? Your insurer may then just cash settle based at these.

I have asked for an itemised bill, so I can hopefully deduct whatever they said they paid for labour hours and skip.

Sorry should have mentioned that the factors have given me the insurance claim form to complete, which will be claimed off the sub contractors insurance, not mine.
