(isnt everyone overlooking the obvious many immigrants are coming to live here global warming is reducing the size of the uk i.e. overpopulation many people looking for somewhere to live therefore supply and demand always pushes up house prices irrelevant of what people can afford as new strategies will be put in place to enable this if need be and profit is to be made by the government after all why are they buying as many half ownership properties as they can if they dont believe this is the case)

the area we live in has high demand because it is central to everything that people require i.e. work, shops, (on high ground not near the sea so global warming will have less impact) our local estate agents are actually targeting the area for property because of the demand and local letting agents have lots of tenants half of whom are immigrants the other half young adults who cant afford to get on the property ladder hence the supply and demand is alive and kicking my son and his friends have all told me they are all happy to rent property because they want to live life and not be tied down with a mortgage at the moment in fact my son is interested in renting one of my propertys as he is at present renting independantly and his partner is a mortgage advisor, young adults now want somewhere to live that has little maintenance so they can still go out and have a good time, they dont want the responsibility so they are more than happy to rent properties part of the reason we are considering renting is because we have many people we know who would love to rent from us

no doubt house prices are going to come down it all depends on whether people are financially able to ride the storm short term pain for long term gain.

yes we were very lucky the properties we bought were being sold for less than they were worth due to the builders not being local and did not realise the realistic value so we were fortunate many estate agents were interested in these properties but as you are probably aware due to legalalities they are not able to purchase as this would have been fraudulent on their behalf.

The builders asked the estate agents to show the properties and gave them a figure the misunderstanding was on their part as they told the estate agent to sell them at the price they mentioned and not to get a general feel of the market and prices we have now had them valued and they are worth £50,000 more as there was two properties and maybe my post was a bit unclear as looking at it could could be misconstewed as one

David - a lot of these happy clappies are'nt well informed so you are wasting your breath.

How about this: Orange County Southern California is reporting prices drops of up to 50% yet unemployment is lowest in the US, very limited buildable city space, massive immigration, booming economy.

This is the sort of factor the happy clappys dont seem able to grasp.

I am a property investor but recognise it has been good to get out now, crystalise some profit and then buy back in when prices fall. BUY LOW SELL HIGH and all that ole pony still works

So sherlock, what does that mean? Do you not realise I can look and read the thread without logging on? I decided to log back on to defend myself against the utter rubbish you were spouting.

I didn't wait for a reply because I am used to using forums and understand replies rarely come within a minute. Then again, I do not have the spare time you obviously have and on that particular day I had to go to this thing called 'WORK'.
