Hose roller guides

Hi guys,

Apologies if this is a basic question but what does hose pipe roller guide do?

Is it to atraighten the pipe so when you undo and do it from reel it doesn't twist etc?

There's different types but it's pretty self explanatory what they do. Can't see much advantage to them myself but they seem well rated.

I presume you are talking about a garden hose reel,the type that you fix to a wall.The roller guide helps the hose roll up evenly around the drum otherwise it could bunch up on one end of the drum and be a pain in the A----
