There I was, sulking that no Private Bank will have me, because I am too poor, a letter dropped in about the Jade by HSBC Premier.

Try as I might, I can't find any mention of a fee.
The airport lounge access and the concierge service usually cost money. The Amex Centurion charges about £2,200 a year, plus joining fee, so airport lounge and concierge are included, but the Jade seems to include them for free.
It does not compute.

Coutts wants £2million.
Adam & Co. is similar.
Metro Bank lets you have a Private Bank account if you have a £1million pound mortgage with them.
HSBC has a Private Bank operation as well, so this looks like a halfway house between HSBC Premier and HSBC Private Bank.
On Top Gear, they used to say you get a Boxster if you can't afford a proper Porsche 911.
So this is the Boxster option.0
