Doesn't sound unreasonable considering the F will probably really expend most of that on legal fees to get the lease amended. It is not as simple as just sending you a letter saying "permission granted". It has to be tied up legally for the future.0 -

No, it really is that simple. They won't vary the lease, they'll just issue a standard template letter stating OP can have the boiler in there. OP needs to ensure that the right extends to future leaseholders - I've seen similar issues where the right to have a boiler/ satellite dish/ aerial etc has only applied to the existing leaseholder and buyers have had to pay again.
It's blatant profiteering, as are most things management companies do.0
