Said it before, say it again - in all my time working in a bank, I'd not seen or heard of a single person who had been defrauded using a contactless card.
The panic over these things is hilarious, and the people panicking over it are generally extremely ill-informed.urs sinserly,

Lucky you - or maybe you don't work in the Fraud department. They certainly have.
I haven't told anyone in a Branch yet. Perhaps I should.
Who are you calling "ill-informed"?
Those of us who have had money stolen via contactless don't find it "hilarious".
Now that you have heard from people defrauded, perhaps you won't be so dismissive.
What's wrong with personal choice?:A0 -

Well technically you haven't had money stolen via contactless, only the banks have ever had money stolen this way.POPPYOSCAR wrote: »I agree.
Getting it back is not always plain sailing either.
When my sons girlfriend had £20 fraudulently taken from her bank account my son had to threaten to take all their bank accounts and mortgage away from them before she got it refunded.
Was the £20 taken using contactless?, if so what were the reasons they wouldn't refund her?.0 -

Probably because the cost of having to produce and administer two card types because a small percentage of users have some perceived issue with contactless is just not cost-effective. The amount of business that they loose is minimal.0 -
If you really must wear a tin hat, disable the contactless yourself - http://www.instructables.com/id/Disabling-Contacless-Payment-on-Debit-Cards/
My old Barclaycard's contactless stopped working when it cracked down the middle, so this probably would work.0
