Would you go back and pay the extra if they had increased the price? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Toys R Us are difficult enough to get a refund off in normal circumstances. They don't price match.Gone ... or have I?0

ummm... if a shop sold a can of peas for 50p and 2 weeks later it was a BOGOF would you go back and demand your free one?
It's hardly their problem that you chose to buy the product when you did. Maybe if it was the day after that the price reduced you could maybe do something, but prices are subject to change and it's not like they have to tell you in advance "oooh by the way, come back in 13 days and it'll be xyz cheaper". Buyer Beware. Seems to be a forgotton term these days.0 -

break something on the car carrier and take it back for a full refund due to safety issue. I won't normally do something dishonest like this accept with toysrus who are the worst company I've ever come across.0 -

Why not just mug the cashier at the till while you're at it! :rolleyes:0 -
Have you used it? Do you still have all the packaging?
I had a quick look at the returns policy on the website and it doesn't say anything about a different policy for car seats. Why don't you give them a call and ask if you can return it saying it is not suitable. Just tell them you bought the wrong type.
However, if you have used it then it would need to be faulty to return it.
I don't agree with the other posters - it is not the same as a tin of peas! The travel systems are very expensive and we all like to think we have got value for our hard earned cash! The Best Things in Life Are Free0 -
I also had a look the their returns policy and it seems that a refund would be given at the discretion of management... and may in the form of a credit note for store bought goods.
Going in with an excuse that it was the wrong one may be cheeky, but if you're really hung up about it, maybe the other posters are right, go for it, especially if all the original packing it still together. I understood it to be the case that it's the same store that has the same product a couple of weeks later at a lower price and not a competitor's store.
Maybe you could say that you were getting it for a friend and found out (a little too late) that they already had one?
As for delibertely damaging it.... but would you go to the bother the deliberately damaging something just for the sake a price difference? What if they see right through it and don't give you the refund? You're left with a broken expensive item.0 -
Remember that they are within their rights to refuse to sell you the item again. Best to order it online, or get it from another store.Gone ... or have I?0
