Very Sorry, god bless u but i did read somewhere that its actually now illegal to bury a pet in the garden.
Just found this.....It is legal to bury pets in the garden provided it is not against any local council regulations or by-laws...HERE
Sorry for your loss mrscruffy
Our 2 cats that died were cremated and we buried the box in the garden and placed a nice plant over each of them. My husband says he talks to them when he's gardening
Same old same old since 20080 -

When our Doberman died - a long time ago - we had him cremated. His ashes came back to us in a very pretty carved box with a little brass name plate on it. Then, when we were ready to let him go, we went to our local crematorium, to the particular area where my family's ashes have been scattered over the years, and scattered his ashes too.
This may sound a very odd thing to say, but our local crematorium is quite a beautiful place: set back from the road, at the end of a long drive, in a wooded area. The management have a budget to pay for squirrel food for the red squirrels there, and I've seen a woodpecker. Our baby is with the rest of the family, and we don't even have to worry about leaving his ashes behind in the garden if we were ever to move.0
