On top of this month’s fantastic prize for members, we’re also giving away two adult tickets and a car pass for this year’s Flying Legends Air Show. The show will take place at IWM Duxford on 8 – 9 July.
The first RAF fighter squadron to receive the new Supermarine Spitfire in 1938 was based at RAF Duxford. Supermarine’s Test Pilot Jeffrey Quill delivered the third production-standard Spitfire, K9789, to this squadron on 4th August 1938.
What was the number of this first RAF squadron to be equipped with Spitfires?
