UKCPS & the miah solicitors

Hi,
I'm new to the forums and this is my first post.
I had a few parking tickets on my car as the machine either didnt't work or we were like an hour over the stay limit in my landlords private carpark (guest spaces).
I've ignored the letters UKCPS sent about paying the fines, however they have now refered it to a "solicitor". The solicitor has sent a letter, however its not clear if its a debt collection letter or not and they don't appear to be part of CSA. The email address in the top right of the letter is debtrecovery.
I don't want this to go any further and i don't want to pay these scammers so i need some advice.
The bottom of UKCPS's letters states they are part of the BPA, however I've checked on the BPA's website and they are not a member. Surely they can't do that?! They are a member (I've checked) of IPC.
What can I do to get out of this? There are a few tickets only 2 of them are with the mirah solicitors.
Thanks,
Nick

They are not fines.
The advice to ignore has not been given here since the law changed in 2012.
The scammers are a mamber of the IPC accredited operator scheme (AOS). They can be members of two trade asociations, but only one AOS.
Wht did your landlord say when you complained?
Who is the creditor on these letters.
What are the dates of all the tickets? Date of alleged event and date received in the post for each one please.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
Thanks for your reply.
What's an AOS?
I haven't contacted my landlord (RMG Group) yet, should I do this?
Yes - Miah Solicitors - by creditor what do you mean?
I've had 3 letters from UKCPS for all tickets other than the March ticket.
The dates of the tickets:
31st Dec 2016 - the ticket was placed on the car, however I didn't get anything in the post till approximately a month after. I've also had 1 "solicitor" letter for this.
9th January 2017 - no solicitor letter yet, but as stated above, I've received 3 letters from UKCPS, the first coming approximately 1 month after the PCN was placed on the car.
15th January 2017 - the ticket was placed on the car, however I didn't get anything in the post till approximately a month after. I've also had 1 "solicitor" letter for this.
28th January 2017 - no solicitor letter yet, but as stated above, I've received 3 letters from UKCPS, the first coming approximately 1 month after the PCN was placed on the car.
5th March - 2 or 3 letters for this, however no solicitor letter.0 -
The scammers have to be an AOS member in order to obtain the keeper details from the DVLA.
Of course you shoud complain to the landlord. This is all explained in the NEWBIES thread as is the appeal process. Unfortunately by ignoring you have lost the opportunity to appeal to the scammers. You can however still appeal/complain to the landowner, and you should if you were genuine car park users.
The creditor is the person or company the "solicitor" is acting for. Does it say UKPCS, or a det collector company?I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
Miah Solicitors were "instructed by UKCPS Limited" with an outstanding parking charge. They are saying that If we do not pay within 14 days they will continue with legal proceedings.
The letter says debtrecovery@themiahsolicitors.co.uk, however, no where in this letter is it clear if it's a debt collection. The address on the letter does not match the one on their website either.

All parking charges seem to be beyond any appeal stage - not that any appeal would have been upheld by UKCPS or by the IAS second stage appeal process.
Apart from a landowner cancellation (which you should pursue vigorously) it's only a judge who can tell you to pay (or tell UKCPS to cancel the charges). So you're in limbo for 6 years - the time limit for UKCPS to bring a court case(s).
Come back if you get real court papers. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
