Quick Question re unauthorised transactions

Evening all,
I'm away at the moment and just had a call from my father who opened his credit statement and saw a large amount and some transactions he didn't make. He HATES using the phone but his first reaction - as would be anyone's was to phone them saying he didn't understand any of the transactions and the account should be zero 😂😂 my mother (whose with me) has said it's her transactions, made with her card (she's a secondary card holder). Cue lots of angry faces but he's now panicking about phoning them back. I've told him I think they send a form out which you can just ignore or confirm the transactions are fine but he's saying they'd told him they've cancelled his cards and will refund the money.

They do send a form right? At least they did when I had someone use my card. We are back after the weekend so we can help sort it but at the moment I've one parent hitting the gin over her cancelled card and another whose stressing that there's been spending going on.

    Some do, some don't.

Tell him to phone back and say he's figured it out.

I'm sure that a good number of people report unauthorised transactions (in good faith), then realise that they were actually authorised.

I suspect that a quick phone call will sort it.

They probably have a big button on their system labelled something like "Customer realised transaction was authorised" and can resolve it in a couple of seconds.
