DPA breach with a bank

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum or not but anyway. I'll try and keep it brief

back in the summer of 2015 I went volunteering in south africa. Unfortunately I lost my bank card. I called up and cancelled it. I arrived in manchester airport with no cash, so got my friend to pay for a taxi over the phone for a trip to the bank to get emergency cash. When I got to the bank they advisor said my address looks strange, it's down that you live in northern island (I'd had no problems with my address or postage) she said not to worry I'll fix it for you. got my cash, got the train home forgot about it. after a week no card. I rang up the bank confirmed my address, sorry we will cancel the card and re-send another. another week, no card. Ring up again confirm my address they told me to wait a few more days it should be on the way. few days no card, ring up again and confirm my address, they wanted to send a 3rd card, I declined and asked them to check my account as something is clearly wrong. anyway it turns out they had changed my address and were sending new bank cards and pins to someone elses address. everytime I rang up they passed DPA even though it was the wrong details.

anyway they offered my £75 for my troubles for which i foolishly accepted. I was later told I could get £500 minimum for DPA breaches. could I still have a case for compensation even though i accepted their offer?

Doubt it - it's highly likely that the £75 was in full and final settlement of any claim rather than being something to go back to and renegotiate later.

There's no such blanket minimum for DPA breaches anyway and you didn't lose any money, so forget it and move on....
