You need to take out travel insurance now. If anything happens between now and when you travel, you won't be covered.

Hi, what an exciting holiday for you!

Insurance could be tricky, I tried to take it out for a holiday 15 months ahead once, and was told I could only insure for 12 months ahead. It will be worth phoning around to try and find a company that will insure you from now. I had a very worrying 3 months before I could take out a policy.

I believe if you had an annual policy in place nie it would cover you, and continue when you renewed. But as this is your first holiday you won't have this.

Do you have a nationwide account at all? The paid for account includes worldwide insurance I think.

I know you did and I then looked but as I have said I could get quotes for this August but not next. I will try and get round it somehow.

    Sadly I don't. I have a Santander 123 and TSB account.
I will check online to see if I can find someone who will insure us from now. If not I will also have a worrying 3 months lol

One of the high street agents will definitely be able to cover you so pop into one of them and ask for a quote. It may well be slightly more than the internet but it maybe worth paying that to be covered asap.
I've just been on the Thomas cook website and I put in next august 2018 and it gave me a price, so try on the net again maybe you did it wrong or there was a glitch.

You aren't limited to one, two or any number of current accounts.

It's unusual to book a holiday so far ahead so that's why you're having difficulty. What are the cancellation terms of the holiday? You might not lose a lot cancelling so far ahead.

But presumably you would lose your deposit if nothing else.
I've got holidays booked for autumn 2018 but also have annual insurance which will be renewed.

Depends on the terms. It could be the deposit, it could be more or less. It'll be in the T&Cs somewhere.
