Thanks for your comments. As to how they transferred the mortgage, the mortgage account number stayed the same and they simply changed/updated the mortgagee details to myself and my then wife. Along with the direct debit details obviously!0

Who you applied for a new mortgage with, then later changed it to you and your wife.
