A driver hit my car at the rear While i was at the stationary at traffic lights I have a comprehensive policy and i gave my insurance all the particulars ie. addresses reg number and a dated photo at the scene of her and the car Thing is there has been no contact from her with insurance details ,Is that OK and i cant get in touch to give her mine She told me she is on her grandmothers policy Is there anymore i should do. I worry about wether she has reported the accident or is on a policy thanks Beatrice

Are you claiming on your policy for vehicle damage? If so, when you give your insurers her reg, they will see who she is insured with and they will contact them regarding liability once they have paid the invoices for your claim.
If the driver wasn't insured on the vehicle, that doesn't matter either, as the insurers of the vehicle will still have a duty as they insure the vehicle itself.0 -
Thank you its clearer now0

Third party insurers will only have an obligation to deal as RTA insurer if the offending driver is identified, i.e, the OP has the name of the driver.0
