Chinese kettle

Hello everyone,
I bought a 2 litre kettle from China as it was very cheap and it is rare where I am to get a 2 litre kettle. However, it obviously has a Chinese plug. Which adaptor do I need to plug it into my UK mains?
Thank you

Assuming the kettle can be used with a UK power supply, you could just cut the plug off and put a fused UK plug on it?0

A Chinese to UK adaptor
However, as per the above, it'll be a simple job to cut the plug off and wire a standard UK plug onto it - assuming it's designed for UK voltage.0 -

China... very cheap... Chinese plug...
Please make sure you have an extinguisher suitable for an electrical fire.0 -
I imagine there will be a pot of water handy, in the event that it catches fire.0

A 2L kettle doesn't seem like a rare item as I just found one with a quick google search?
That may be better/safer!0 -
Electric burns and scalding, two for the price of one...
Could you not have bought an oldschool urn for the volume? Or was price & convenience too tempting? As MS this kettle is possibly not going to be.0 -
It seems a bit strange to assume because it's a cheap kettle from China that it will be unsafe. There are loads of cheap kettles sold in the UK - where do you think most of them are made?0

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1994/1768/made
Cheap UK items still need to comply with The Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994
and numerous other laws and regulations to ensure they are safe
An item with a Chinese plug already shows it doesnt, meet UK consumer saftey regulations, and if people cut corners on one thing its SAFER to assume they don't follow them on others.
Could be perfectly safe, could blow up the first time you plug it in and scalds followed by an electrical fire.0 -

Assuming you weren't 'just passing' a kettle shop in China on a recent visit and this was bought online, why didn't you just buy one online from a UK store, with a three-pin plug already attached......? Just a thought.0 -

Yes, fair point!
To be honest, for the hassle of buying a plug and changing the plug you may as well spend a tenner on a cheap new kettle anyway.0
