Flights from Amsterdam,can I do this?

I am looking at flying Aberdeen to Houston business class.
The flight from Aberdeen to Houston with KLM is £2776 each (too much)(via ams)
On the KLM website the flight from Amsterdam to Houston is 2445 Euros each and the flight from Aberdeen to Ams is around £150

Would I be allowed to book this online? I don't see a reason why not? And how much would they really charge me in £'s for the flight? Roughly? It is the same flights.

It's your credit card company that will charge you in ££, not KLM.

Visa rate today is 1.43 - most CC companies add a 2.75% loading to that.

Nationwide and the Post Office cards don't charge.

We recently did something like this where we started our journey from Amsterdam to South Africa with BA and was fine. It's always cheaper, however we paid in £'s. When we booked with BA (comair) for internal flights in SA we paid the local currency and nothing was said.

Don't forget to factor in the cost of flights from Aberdeen and wether they connect or not and the connection times.

Don't know when you are going but try BA.com as there Club World is a very attractive new product at the moment.

I travel with KLM around 8 times / month. What you offer to do is PERFECTLY feasible and apparently cheaper (which is a surprise) however, as you will have your flights on 2 different tickets, you will first have to book your luggage to AMS, collect and re-check-in at the KLM counter for your AMS to Houston flight. Same will happen for your return flight. Well worth the effort for a saving of £914 (or thereabout). Go for it before the price increases.

You could also contact your local travel agent. They have a number of tickets called "consolidation fares". Much cheaper than a fully flexible fare or semi-restricted fare but they however do not allow you to change dates and flight details (we call them re-enforced concrete ticket...they won't change shape nor form). So only opt for that if you are 100% sure of your dates of travel.

Sorry did not read totally your post. Euro2775 is about £1710. Add the £150 for your UK to AMS and total is £1862 (a saving of £914 as mentioned above)

Have a look at the KLM web site and experiment with different dates, routes and fares. Virtually all their one-way fares are in business class.

2 different invoices would likely loss you rights on missed connection - although if with same airline/ partner I would have thought they should still check luggage thro' as holding a valid ticket
