Morning,
Nice sunny day again,I'm off to school later to help in my friends class-it usually involves something messy
,& I like it that way. I've got quiche I can stick in the oven from the freezer when I get home.
I've had a few nights sleeping downstairs as poor Ly1a has had a bad stomach and has needed to go out so its just easier. She didnt get me up last night tho,so hoping she's getting over it.
I picked DGD up from school and we went straight to the park and had a nice hour.I said I would buy her an ice cream but the cafe was shut, the ice cream kiosk was shut and no van either.Seems daft it shuts before school finishes as it gets so busy. Luckily I remembered we had some lollies in the freezer
Dumpling, congrats on this weeks weight loss, thats great, and Gers for being back on the low/carb sugar.I am trying but am not back into it yet  Last weekends lunch at friends didnt help, she made the most delicious cake, and ginger cookies.
I started making a summer dress yesterday so want to do a bit more before I go out,and some ironing,so will love you and leave you and hope poorlies and worrieds feel better soon x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Lainey - have you read the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, they're books you can get your teeth into. The first one used to be called Crosstitch in the UK but I think they've changed it to Outlander as a tie in to the TV series on Amazon.
Dumpling, I forgot to say well done yesterday, I hope your DD's meeting went well.
I rang DH yesterday and persuaded him to leave work a bit earlier than normal because it was such a lovely afternoon. We decided to do a local circular walk of about 5 miles with a pub halfway round where we stopped to eat. I had a beautiful whole plaice with clams and new potatoes. All in all it was a lovely evening.
DD is very happy with the piano and had a restorer/tuner round to look at it last night. He suggested replacing some bits but was very impressed with the quality so it should last some years yet.
I'm in the mood to do some house sorting today (I know, don't laugh), will see how I get on.0 -
Good morning everyone, thanks to nmlc for starting the thread and hugs to anyone who needs one.
JackieO - yes I still have a button box though somewhat depleted these days after it got raided a few years ago for a school project my nephew was doing.
Sunny again this morning and not as chilly as yesterday though the afternoon was lovely if you were in the sun. The weather is due to break tomorrow- never mind the garden could do with a soak.
Out this evening to an AGM so plan to have my main meal as a late lunch and just a snack when I get back. I made two portions of tandoori chicken and stuffed peppers last night so that will do nicely again today.
Frustratingly my printer/scanner has stopped scanning so I ended up having to take a photo of a document I needed to send to manager which was a right faff. It's not even two years old and not had much use so I've emailed Tesco Direct so fingers crossed I get a positive response.
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
Morning all,
In the meantime, make sure he is being kept hydrated. Such an awful time your going through.Judi I asked for a clinical review with the consultant so that I can stress how concerned we are but they couldn't fit us in till Monday ..better than nothing I guess. Thanks again for all your kind thoughts they really are appreciated
Dont apologise, your two separate people in one marriage. It would be easy if you merged into one person but it doesnt work that way does it? If its any consolation hubby and i were talking about splitting up on Sunday. Hey ho, thats life! Not had a good few days DH and I are at each others throats so dont know where that will go its been like it for a while and its getting me down sorry
Lovely warm day here, sunny but overcast. I am taking advantage of the beautiful weather by washing the duvets and airing the rooms.
Usual guest for tea tonight. I was going to do a fish pie but i remember the last one i made which was rather disastrous so its rubber chicken for us instead.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I'm trying...again!Morning,
... Gers for being back on the low/carb sugar.I am trying but am not back into it yet  Last weekends lunch at friends didnt help, she made the most delicious cake, and ginger cookies.
Once I get my mind set right I can do it! At college today there was a lovely lovely red velvet cake in the staff room which I successfully ignored - might not work next week..

If you have a smartphone download the free app called Tiny Scanner. From it you can scan to pdf and email direct. The free version only does one page documents, I paid the £2.99 for the multi-page version. Makes life so much easier.
My morning session was truly great! The three annoying brats didn't turn up so everyone else was lovely and calm and got on with work. I was compiling paperwork for a standardisation meeting in two weeks time so was kept busy too.
The promised rain and cloud haven't appeared though it's pretty windy. I've been in the garden, just sitting, and will probably go back there in a few minutes with a cup of tea and a book. The lazy life, eh?0 -
Hi chums just awaiting my three grandsons coming in from school, did anyone watch the BBC 2 play about Kind Charles the third, and what did they think of it ? Interesting theory adapted from a play I believe

It commences a good way through "The Valley of Horses." Next bit whited out, as may contain spoilers:Interesting comments re the earths child books, I can not put them down but I have only just started re reading the second one so will see what the later ones are like. LW I must admit I cant remember pages and pages of s*x scenes but maybe ive blanked those bits out :rotfl:
After Jondalar moves into Ayla's cave, she realises that s*x isn't always as she has learned in the years with the Clan, ie the male makes the "signal" and the female HAS to comply...... and she discovers she really, really, REALLY likes it.
I have one - it's my first port of call before looking in the chazzer for buttons. Only when these two options have been exhausted will I consider buying new buttons from an actual shop. How many of us have button boxes nowadays I wonder
I still have mine from the mid 1960s and inside I have some buttons from my youngest DDs little blue duffle coat she wore when she was 3 .
She will be 48 in December
:):) but I can't bring myself to bin them
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I have a button box, I've just divided my buttons up between my DD's along with my sewing thread.
I got to work today to find an email rom my boss telling me I need to work out how much paper I need per week and not keep asking to double up some weeks.
I didn't reply for a couple of hours as I was so cross.
I used to have 100 reams of A4 and 5 reams of A3 delivered every week, then I was told I could only have 75 reams of A4 a week and no A3. That's was when I started to run out on a regular basis. !!!!!! either I can have the required quantity or I can't but to blame me for the shortage when they made the decision to limit the orders!Chin up, Titus out.0
