I was considering a gioteck wired controller or a rock candy controller from Asda but the reviews are very mixed. It seems Morrisons have a dragon shock controller that has decent enough reviews. I guess it's that or a second hand one. Do any of the gaming stores that sell second hand official controllers offer decent length warranties? I am thinking for a year?

Have you attempted taking controller apart? Its not too hard just be careful little pieces or screws don't roll off, sometimes it just takes a slight dust and clean inside to fix, or gently recentre the control sticks.

I was going to but didn't have a small enough screw driver. I dug out an old controller that I had broke years ago when I dropped it which caused the right stick to sink. Miraculously it has somehow fixed itself and is currently working fine.

Get an official Sony one from Game.co.uk. About £40. Avoid Amazon as theyr'e all markeplace sellers and they're all fakes. Unless yours came with the PS3 itself its likely they're fakes too. Official ones last forever fakes do not.

I have only seen second hand or over priced official controllers on game. I have had 3 controllers, two came with a console and the other was from my local HMV. All 3 have had a fault develop. On one it was inflicted by me dropping it though. That one has healed itself somehow and is what I currently use. Of the others one has a dodgy trigger and the other has a dodgy left stick which causes the character to move forward. This seems to vary in severity from one game to another. For example I recently played bioshock 2 and it wasn't too bad. I then started on crysis 2 and the issue was very bad.

You'll compromise on your quality with that budget. Get a 2nd hand official one from ebay. 20$ controller will surely gonna break in a month or two. A friend of mine bought 2 controllers once, for 18$ each and they both lasted only two months.

I'd agree with the comment above. Check any independent gaming shop near you or visit ebay!
  • You're obviously going to have to make compromises on quality and performance with an unofficial controller; especially one for under 20. Regardless, I've found two slightly better controllers in this price range; I did some company research on the first (red) controller, and they seem to have garnered some praise. Anyway, here's the two I'd recommend having a look at.

    1. AMG Global (red) @ 13.99 - http ://amzn.to/2r43mXm (remove space)

    2. P3 (black) @ 15.99 - http ://amzn.to/2s6nSW2 (remove space)

Hope you manage to find what you're looking for soon.
