Combi Boiler Pressure Boost

Good Afternoon

I am hoping someone has experimented the same problem as me and had found a solution.

I am experiencing very poor flow and pressure rate from my combi and looking for a way to increase this.

My Valiant has been serviced recently and the water company has been out to check to carry out flow and pressure check and it passed their minimum requirements.

I have been looking at storage tanks with a booster as an option

Has this loss of pressure just happened or has it always been like this ?

It has always poor in the area

The extra bathroom we have downstairs use to be average and now it struggling for hot water.
It is cold for 3-4 mins then goes warm for around the same and back to cold

It sounds like a combi wasn't right for your property in the 1st place if the pressure has always been poor, Salamanda do a home boost pump that is fitted on your mains that will increase the pressure & flow although it's not cheap

Something like this would the ideal solution, but depends on your budget and the space you have available http://www.terrybookers.co.uk/water-booster-277-c.asp - it's the same size as a large hot water cylinder. You would need to connect it at the mains water entry point, and you can then use it to improve both cold and hot water pressure throughout the house.

The submerged pump means that it's very quiet when operating - the separated tanks and pumps can be really noisy when they kick in and out every few minutes.

How long has the combi been installed? If it's been in for a while has it always cycled hot an cold in the extra bathroom?

If you run the kitchen hot tap for 10 mins does it cycle hot and cold?

Did the water company tell you what flow rate you were getting?

Fully open and leave open the kitchen cold tap or outside tap then turn the stop tap fully off and on several times. Do the same with the stop tap in the street if you can find it and have something to turn it with. This sounds daft but Yorkshire Water suggested this and it helped with a problem that I was having. Oh don't forget to turn the o/s or kitchen tap off!

When you had it serviced, what did the engineer say about the flow rate and it cycling hot and cold?
Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.
