In battle with 2 businesses over a damaged TV, what are my consumers right?

I'm done! As custardy says you're flogging a dead horse. You've had plenty of advice here, its not us you have to convince.

The TV was sold with a pixel line. This is an indication that the set was damaged prior to your purchase. Also these large screen TV’s must be transported in the upright position. I was unlucky a while back with a 40inch Sony and its replacement.
I then bought from John Lewis they knew how to transport TV's and it was perfect.
Looks like your only option is to claim off your home insurance, tell them you knocked it while decorating.0 -

Asked at least three times what sort of value we are talking about but been ignored each time.0 -
I am a bit confused that the description said it was as new but with a pixel line so it wasnt even advertised correctly IMO
having said that it is more likely it got damaged in transit.
as everyone else has said if the seller has said it was Ok and the you didnt have adequate insurance for the courier, there doesnt seem much you can do

Oh sorry. Missed the how much it cost past. The tv was advertised as "pixel line manufacturer refurbished. TV comes in fully workinguaranteed as new condition." The picture on the auction only had a straight pixel line only on the TV with no other indication of other damages like cracking screen, the fact that content is dark on one side of the screen, a 13 cm wide horizontal black mark bar on the side of the screen. On top of my head, everything was under £2500

Yes, the courier would have know it was a TV as the booking was made at the same time as when the extra charges was paid to have the TV cover for damages and loss.0

lovinituk. No one has said the TV is not working prior to the courier picking up the TV. It is the crack on the screen, the black mark, the fact that image on the TV is dark on 1 side and brighter on the other sider of the screen, the fact that there is more pixel li e on the tv than mentioned that am enquiring about. I have no doubt that the TV works. May well be that the item was not described as shown in the auction listing, or could have been damaged by the courier who knows.0

It's a cheap refurbished set, doubtless further damaged by the OP's delivery agent.
OP admits they knew in advance that the set was not covered by insurance.
