Dorothy Perkins PPI claim (1990s)

I hope someone can help to clarify who I need to make my claim to. I have read several articles and forum posts that are all different in their advice.
I was sold my store card (and the Ppi policy) in store in 1995. I Believe that the underwriter at the time was Genworth Financial insurance and the company that sold the policy was GE Money. I also believe that GE money was then sold to Santander and then to NewDay in 2013.
I was definitely Mis-sold the Ppi and have been trying to work out who to make my complaint to. Which is where I hope someone here can help.
Do I complain initially to NewDay or do I need to go to Santander or directly to Genworth? Does anyone know the best / most sensible route? I have my account number etc so don't need that to be clarified to me by anyone.
If I need to start my complaint with NewDay, if some has an address or person that I need to complain to, that would be great. I did try in January via 'Resolver', but NewDay just didn't respond to me. The next stage on Resolver is to escalate to FOS, but I feel that I perhaps sent the complaint to the wrong company perhaps and would prefer to speak to someone or write to someone directly now. I have an address for both Genworth and Santander should they be the company I need to go to.
Thank you in advance for any help or advice.
