Parking Fine from Smart Parking

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone has had any experience with Smart Parking?

I received a PNC in April and appealed it on the basis that I only received the letter after the date for payment. I have an elderly blind neighbour, and the mail went there first. Anyway, this appeal was apparently rejected but I didn't receive any letter stating this.

The next thing I know, a letter hits by door mat from Debt Recovery Plus saying I owe £150 (the original PNC was only £40). I've tried to contact Smart Parking who are absolutely no help and just say that my account has been passed to Debt Recovery Plus.

I'm very worried that I will be taken to court or that my credit rating will be affected. Money is an issue at the moment and I just cannot afford the £150.

Does anyone have any advice on this matter?

Many thanks in advance.

DRPL cannot take you or anyone to court over this , IGNORE THEM

SMART have 6 years to try an MCOL

if you are out of time to appeal, you follow the IGNORE route for 6 years , unless you receive an LBC or an MCOL

the NEWBIES sticky thread deals with all aspects of these matters, please read it , in this case especially read post#4

It is not a good idea to use real names as user names here if that is what you have done. You should also never reveal the identity of the driver. There is little you can do now about your situation except wait to see if you get real court papers from Not so Smart in the next six years.

If you get another PCN in the future, read the NEWBIES thread first before appealing, and post here under a non real name if you need further help.
