Reclaiming PPI from store cards??

Hi all

I took our Storw Cards for Dorothy Perkins (GE Money??) And New Look (Ikano??) Back in 2006/7. Spent far too much on them and spent years repaying them. I had probably cleared them by 2011. Dont recall actually closing the accounts but certainly havent used the accounts since they were paid off. I have no paper work for these cards/accounrs so Im unsure about wether I was sold PPI or not but have heard stories of people being successful with these claims.

So how so I go about finding out? I dont know my account numbers or anything but do I just write to them and ask them outright wether I paid PPI?

Any advice appreciated

Thanks
