My local scentsy dealer is encouraging us to buy a sachet (£6-£8) for every set of bedding in the cupboard (the idea is to fold the duvet cover inside the pillowcase with a sachet to make it smell nice) It sounds like a great idea, but with several sets of bedding, it could be very expensive. It occurs to me there must be a cheaper alternative. I just can't figure out what it could be. Does anyone have any ideas?

Soap

Those little bars of gift soaps or freebies from hotel stays
I used to use scented cedar wood balls. They lasted for ages and when they stopped smelling I'd just add more scent to them0 -
Oh cool! I never thought of those! Do they come with scent? Or do you buy them "plain" and scent them yourself?MBNA (Was £2000), Now £2, 900 (Expected date Dec/2020)

They came scented and I bought a wee bottle of scent to refresh them. This was years ago and I seem to have lost most of them now0 -
I keep my stash of soap divided between my clothing drawers, and that keeps my stuff smelling nice. I don't use fabcon as Mr LW objects to having his stuff smelling "girly" as he puts it.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

If you're greenfingered, you could try growing your own lavender and then snip some off and put it in a muslin bag and use that - smells divine.0

I'd imagine a couple of those tumble drier sheets would work just as well.
Or a bar of Dove soap.
But if it's scented sachets you want, Dunelm do them at £3, and I'm sure a google search would find them even cheaper. Heathcote & Ivory have them in their clearance sale sometimes.
Years ago I made sachet-type things for hanging up. A ball of cottonwool, a dab of essential oil, place it on a circle of fabric, gather it up and tie it with a bit of wool, and away you go.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

Thanks for your reply. I will look in Dunelm (but obviously I am trying to save money lol) and will try the tuble dryer sheets too. Where is your quote/signature from? Its ringing some bells but can't put my finger on it....MBNA (Was £2000), Now £2, 900 (Expected date Dec/2020)

Lavender doesn't really require green fingers - it thrives on neglect (a woody herb) so even well known black fingers like me can grow it. If you grow it in a pot or window box, you have to pot it on, propagate from cuttings or buy a new plant every few years. But in ordinary ground it needs very little water.
I sew (see another thread) and every year dry lavender (spread on sheet in spare room, when dry shake into box, finally hoover well!) and make loads of sachets in aid of charities.0 -
If you have any of those little bags you sometimes get costume jewellery/small gifts in, put a few drops of essential oil on a tissue or fabric scrap then put it inside the bag, if you don't want to make a bag yourself.
If you shop somewhere like Lush, use the product then when the paper bag is empty put that in with your bedding/drawers.0
