Our CH is still coming on in the mornings - just wondering if we're being profligate with our gas or if we need to find out why our house is so cold.

Yes mine is still coming on in the morning temperature set to reach 20C then switches of untill late evening when it is timed to come on again..
We live near theNE coast and regadless of the sun shinning, we are always subject to the wind blowing from the sea.
Have now got used to having to spend that bit extra on heating, but would not change location.
Hopefully heating will be turned off in June for a short while.:T0 -
yes! I tried one morning with it off and it wasn't nice!
When its 4/5 Deg C outside I would say it's reasonable to have it on in the morning!0 -
Yes, but only to dry the bathroom and towels out. I'm not actually there by the time it has switched on.0

I have storage heaters and they've been off since the end of March. It does get a bit chilly at times but a blanket helps with that. I live on the N/East of Scotland so have the cold windLost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

No - despite living in a Welsh stone cottage, we've not had it on in the morning for about a month now.0

Yes, not a case of rolling in money but as we can afford it without hardship we would rather be comfortably warm than shivering on cold days.0

Ours is set at 20 degrees from 9am , so if the sun isn't shining into the livingroom, the heating kicks in for a short while. My husband gets up for work, at 4.30, so uses the gas fire, if he feels cold because the setting is too low to trigger the boiler.
I can't afford not to have the heat, as being cold causes me health problems.0 -
Yes.
Ours is on all year round but only burns gas when it's cold enough.
We also have weather & load compensation on the thermostat so the rads only get warm enough to take the edge off the chill first thing.3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). No. I don't have my gch on a timer. I switch it on if I am cold. I get up at 6 - 7 am and get dressed quickly. Don't need heating. 3bed semi.
