I note that this thread has had nearly 300 views, with no response. So although I won't be going for it (broke:rolleyes: ), thanks for posting.

    Good price and good freebie.

Dixons did have 5% off and 4% quidco but have now sold out so will probably buy from amazon.
  • Mine arrived the other day and it's mint! Remember with the postal strike it will be delayed tho, even with next day as Amazon use RM Special Delivery for smaller items, although they may use couriers during this time.

I notice that offer ended on 3/10/07

  • I think the offer is still working. I've just ordered a silver classic and the itrip and on the last confirmation page the price of the itrip was deducted as promised.

Terrible sound quality for the iPod Classic from the reviews. It seems that Apple has replaced the processing chip to a cheapy one ruining the sound quality. I am actually looking to buy one of the older iPod versions. Anyone know where to get new ones (but old version)??
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

I've got a 160GB Classic myself and find the sound quality to be excellent. Not so noticeable on recent stuff which has 2-3 guitars and a drum track but stick in something like tubular bells 2 or even (in homage to the gorilla) Phil Collins and you can really spot the difference between the standard buds and something like a pair of sennheiser cx300s.

I've actually started to re-listen to a lot of my old albums to see what I've been missing for so long.

    Cheers

I'm sure Apple will be selling loads of 'refurbished' (but probably brand new) old gen iPods shortly, when all the hype has died down...

I was just about to buy an ipod classic before I read this thread, and the amazon reviews. A lot of people on amazon are slating them, saying they are full of bugs and poor sound quality... Hmm. What are apple doing about this?

Was looking forward to ordering one too :(
