APCOA Parking Charge Notice appeal

Was hoping for some help, and your views!
I parked my mums car at an APCOA car park, but in my rush to get my tickets and train as I was running late, I selected the wrong vehicle on the APCOA app.
A week or two later I received a Parking Charge Notice, which I appealed to APCOA and sent them proof of purchase of the correct location, date and duration but was the wrong vehicle. Their letter seems to accept my other vehicle did not enter their car park (it was at home with a flat tyre, hence the earlier rush when I got to the train station!) but they have rejected my appeal as "The terms and conditions of the car park clearly state that a valid payment should be made for parking when leaving your vehicle in the car park"
I would pay up if I hadn't actually paid for parking, but I have and just made a genuine error and APCOA are not actually out of pocket.

APCOA don't really care if you paid or not, so any appeal based on fact will fail.

This PCN almost certainly falls to be considered under Railway bye laws, which you appear not to have mentioned in your appeal.
