A few weeks ago hubby was offered a fan that was going spare at work and destined for the skip. It has been put to good use this weekend.

I haven't had many things from Freecycle but i always make a point of saying thank-you when someone has given something they don't want. I've given stuff away, and not always been thanked.
But if this is a thread about nice people......... I gave away a bike, fold-up type which had been in the loft for years. The girl who came for it was from down South somewhere, but was a student in Liverpool. A few years after she took it, i received an email from her to say 'Henry' (she named the bike), had been very useful to her getting around the City. But now she was going back home and couldn't take the bike, so she'd past it onto her friend, who was also a student. And thanks again.

I have once more been blessed by the generosity of a complete stranger. Today I was gifted something very similar to this via Freecycle, perfect for our little one's clothes:

You don't have to go far to find the good in people, you just have to look for it.

Last night I popped out to the supermarket, and saw an elderly lady with a walking stick standing outside looking like she was in pain. She said she could walk with the help of a trolley, but her husband was having trouble getting hold of one because he only had new £1 coins. Easily remedied by donating them one of the trolley tokens I keep in my purse for exactly such occasions.

Something caught my eye on top of the plastics recycling skip because it was too big to fit through the flap: a big plastic teapot. It looked clean enough, but scrubbed down with bleach its ideal for my little niece to use when she waters the sunflowers we planted together :).
