Morning everyone, thanks for the thread nmlc.

:j it's blue sky and sunshine here in EA, bit of frost first thing but quickly going and it's set to be a nice day.
I really fancied a slice of toast with egg this morning, don't usually eat bread but had a hunt through the freezer and found a crust, now eaten and enjoyed.
DOH was up early and off to Lancs for a one day game of cricket so nice to have the house to myself, thinking will get all my chores done this morning and then take my little girl for a long walk later, my old lady is limited to 20 mins at a time so good to let Tilly-Lou have a good run.
Yesterday didn't quite go to plan as the tea-shop we were going to visit doesn't open on Tuesdays but we ended up with one that had a lovely view of the cathedral, just a shame it was too cold to sit outside :o cake was consumed and enjoyed mind.

Fingers crossed that they can do something to help your Dad Nelski

Take cares to nmlc and HH

Good morning everyone, thanks to nmlc for starting the thread and hugs to anyone that needs one.

Dumpling - congratulations on the weightloss no wonder you're chuffed:D

Nelsksi - hope they get your Dad's feeding sorted out soon. Enjoy your chance to relax tonight.:)

Commiserations to those that had a broken night, it's so draining when you don't sleep well. :(Unfortunately my condition disrupts my sleep so I'm pretty used to being awake several times during the night. It's still exhausting though and I need to compromise with a nap in the afternoon. I was concerned this might add to the problem but GP says no it's the best thing and I actually find I sleep better if I'm not too exhausted at bed time.

For once I actually managed to make the right sized portion of sausage last night so no LOs to ponder on using up :)

It's sunnyish here this morning so I'm hoping to get some more done in the garden. The weather is due to break in the next few days so want to make the most of it.

I hope everyone has a good day x

    Morning all,

Had a nightmare this morning. Woke at 5am. Went to the gym and then realised that I forgot my shirt, so had to drive 40 mins home to put on a shirt then get stuck in rush hour traffic for an hour on the way back and was 40 minutes late to work. Brilliant start.

Anyway, on a brighter note, when checking my bank as I do every morning I had a lovely surprise of £500 as a present for my flat from my Aunt. Absolutely blown away. Incredibly generous.

Busy day at work today, especially since I'm making up for lost time this morning.

    Moustache.

Oh, and thanks to all of you who helped answer my question from yesterday. I'll take readings as soon as I get in the property.

Well done on the weight loss. You are putting me to shame as I can't seem to get myself in gear just now.

Had a not very slimming bacon roll for breakfast and will make myself some soup before nipping out to volunteer at the library.

The decking outside is coming on nicely and should be done for the weekend and I am hoping a carpet fitter will come round this afternoon.

Waiting for new curtains to arrive for youngest's bedroom as she is coming for the weekend and need to put up the new ceiling shade as well.

    Nelski

Fingers crossed they get you dad's feeding tube sorted out.

    Hugs to all

speky, it might be worth leaving a bag in the car with a spare shirt in (and a spare whatever else you can't go to work without!)

DD has just posted on Facebook that she opened a parcel, expecting it to contain tequila samples (yes, her job entails her being sent alcohol frequently) and it had colostomy bags in it!

Lamewolf - my sympathies for the coughing and I hope the hot toddies work. I've never tried one as I don't like honey and would prefer my whisky neat! I've heard they work wonders though.
Yes, we usually drink our whisky neat, too; but under the circumstances, we both felt that hot toddies were the way to go. ;)
Hopefully they've helped; Mr LW seems a lot better today; I'm just decluttering alarming amounts of muck off my lungs (sorry if TMI) but that in itself must be a step forward, no?

I am re reading the earths child series by Jean Auel,I have downloaded them on my kindle, I read them years ago and loved them and its the same now, if anyone hasn't read them I would thoroughly recommend them as a good read.
I'm reading them for the first time at present; currently on "Plains of Passage". I'm enjoying them, but I really could do without what seems like pages and pages of graphic descriptions of s*x. I'm afraid I skim-read those bits.

I've managed to get another hankie wash done (31 of the little blighters this time) and as last time, I shan't bother ironing them; as we're going through so many it's a waste of time, we'll just grab the unironed ones to use.

Also cleaned the insides of the bedroom and spare room windows today - the bedroom one was absolutely minging, like peering through fog! I suspect the incense we use in there is responsible for that, though.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

I am full of the joys of Spring this morning :D. I went to Slimming World last night and lost 8.5lbs :D:D. I was over the moon as you can imagine. Just got to keep going now.

That's ABSO-BLOOMIN'-LUTELY fabulous! I was so cheered up to read this, well done you. :j Onward and downward.

My day has been fine. Teaching was only a little eventful when I chucked out two of the group for being right little tw*ts, told them to go to the student room for five minutes and come back when they were ready to work - they went home! :rotfl::rotfl:

Invigilation was uneventful. I had one chap doing Higher Graphic Communication (for the second time as he wanted an A and only got a B last year) -very nice he was too. Obligingly he finished early too.

I'm striving to go carb and sugar free again, only have to munch on mints when invigilating to try to surpress the worst of the coughing. I think I've hit the 'too tired to think' part, even though I know it'll pass it's just floored me today. So, I will go and lie down.

On the upside I had good news from college about my work this year which chuffed me no end. Didn't hear it directly from the curriculum leader but from one of the course leaders, but I'll take high praise from any corner.

Later I have the rest of the yummy and cheap YS fillet steak to look forward to. For now it's a stretch on the sofa and another chapter of my Quentin Jardine book.

    Afternoon all,

Spent some of the morning in hospital vascular clinic with OH.....he is to have a heart scan next month, continue on current medication, increase his walking and return in August for scan results......only there for little over an hour but paid €5 for parking....ouch!

Ruby......I have read and enjoyed the Earth Children books, as has DGS2 and DD4, but DD1 didnt like them at all.....takes all sorts.

Dumpling....congratulations on your weight loss, positive vibes to DD14.

Speky....would second the suggestion that you leave spare clothes either in your car or the office. What a lovely generous aunt you have, spend wisely.

We are having pork chops, with peas and potato wedges for dinner, although I havent decided if I will have that or the chicken curry left over from yesterday.......

Lovely day again here today, so going to get myself out for a little while to buck up my vitamin D.

Hugs to all, especially those of you who are not sleeping well

    Marie
