How bad is this as a driving offense, likely repercussions?

I was in the car being driven by my daughter. She approached a large area of road with about six exits and a tiny roundabout. It's a quietish area with loads of room to get around. She hasn't drove long and stupidly took a right hand turn, skipping the roundabout and heading down a road just on her right hand side.

Anyway there was a van, blacked out side windows which I suspect may have been police. They literally came out of the road we pulled in to and passed her as we went down the wrong side of the roundabout. I made her pull up so I could let her know what she has done, that's when I noticed the same van coming back down the road and driving passed us. I don't know if anybody happens to know whether this is likely undercover police?

So yeah we didn't get pulled over but would like to know the possibility of punishment?

Likely nothing, if they were Police they would've pulled you.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

If they were going to do anything they would have pulled you at the time and probably given a verbal warning as it doesn't sound that serious unless she nearly caused an accident.

The police don't tend to use unmarked vans but if it was them, they may have been taking a closer look for evidence of other offences like drink driving and whether the driver matched registration or insurance details.

Useful learning and experience for her. I doubt she will do it again.
