Move in date flexible.

My wife and I had an offer accepted on a house on the 27th April. The provisional move in date is 23rd June. (Scotland)
We are first time buyers so we've given our notice for the flat we are renting. (Vacated by 28th June)
The sellers already have a house they've moved into.
We've got our mortgage offer and shown proof of our funds to our solicitor who now I believe is waiting on the sellers formal acceptance. Our lender has also accepted the home report valuation.
What are the chances of the move in date being brought forward, as I'm sure they'll want the money asap, having already got a new house?
Or does the 23rd have to be the date?
Thanks

If the sellers are already out then I can't see any reason why they wouldn't want to bring forward the date of entry.0

Who suggested 23rd June?
If it was them then they may have reasons for that date. If it was your solicitor then its probably because most estimate the purchase to take around 8 weeks.
I wouldn't have handed in notice on the rental until I had signed missives as its only then that you are pretty sure the purchase of the house is going to go ahead.
Many house purchases fall through - sorry! What happens if 4 weeks from now they say they are not selling to you? Do you have a back-up or will the landlord be flexible and let you stay a bit longer?
When you say you have your mortgage offer do you mean your AIP/mortgage in principal? Or since having your offer accepted on the house have you now done the 'actual' mortgage application now and its come through?
Your solicitor will be in the process of doing searches and whatever conveyancing is involved which does take time. You should say to them that you would like to bring the date forward and they will pass that on.
Anything and everything is flexible til you sign missives, which can be done just a day or so before getting keys.
Good luck!0 -
I think my solicitor must've chose the 23rd. but I'll email him to make sure.
If for some reason it takes longer we can move in with the in-laws for a while.
I can't see the seller's wanting to delay it any longer than necessary with them already living in their new house. I assume they'll be paying 2 mortgages until they get our money.
We have the mortgage accepted. So we know exactly what deposit we are putting down and how much our payments will be.0
