Can I sue Megabus because the coach driver waved at me and drove past me?

There is an official body called the Traffic Commissioners that licenses bus operators. Try writing to them, with a copy to Stagecoach (who operate Megabus): you will need to find the appropriate Traffic Commissioner office.0

You mention that you missed an interview: was this for a job? In which case the Megabus failure deprived you of the chance (but not certainty) of getting a job, which would perhaps have been worth a great deal of money to you.
The law relating to the damages due for the loss of the chance of something valuable, rather than the something itself, is rather complicated. For an overview, see this link: I do suggest you read it before settling for a refund of your fare or even the odd fifty quid.

Have a read up of your rights provided by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. It gives you rights to claim a refund if the service has not been provided with 'reasonable care and skill'. It also allows you to claim for consequential loss against travel companies.

I tried complaining about this to Megabus but got a very blunt reply, "Who do you think you are, royalty? We don't have to stop for you or anyone else for that matter."0 -
I've gotta be honest, if this happened to me it wouldn't even enter my head for a split second to sue anyone.
I'd call the driver all the names under the sun, throw all my toys out the pram, stamp my feet a bit, maybe complain and then get on with life.0 -

This seems very fishy to me.You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

Ummm, You do know that the correct way to stop a bus is to stick your left arm out horizontally until you see the bus change direction/slow down/indicate? If you wave you are just saying "hello!"The man without a signature.0
