I have previously had a fine from PE years ago and my fuzzy memory remembers definitely not paying it or appealing it. Nothing has happened since.

Yes it has - the Beavis Supreme court case. This is why you are being told Not to ignore.

Just follow the advice and send off the appeal letter unadapted. They will refuse the appeal but as they are BPA members, they will issue you with a Popla appeal code, this is when you start to write the true appeal.

I've contacted the person who deals with the PPC. He advised me to appeal through paymypcn.net and he would see to it that it is 'taken care of' for me.
I've since done this and logged in again to the website where the contravention has gone from appeal pending to appeal accepted. I still have £30 showing on the information page though so I'm thinking the appeal itself hasn't been accepted, rather the company has received it?

    Am I correct in this?

Not sure any of us know the intricacies of each PPC's website payment system to give you a categoric answer - one way or the other.

Suggest you check it again in a few days time.

When did you submit your appeal?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
