Fensa?

Some of our 1992 (pre Fensa) Double glazed windows have misted. I intend to DIY replace them. Is a Fensa cert. appropriate, from the glazing unit supplier? (glass only - using existing frames.)

Just had 19 A Rated replacement sealed units fitted in my conservatory for £840.
The others lasted 24 years so cannot grumble
  • Whilst you should certainly try and get units that comply with modern building regs for the sake of thermal efficiency, there is no requirement to notify building control or obtain a FENSA/CERTASS certificate for replacement glazing units as this is considered a repair, not a replacement.
