Please do not ever use Pet insurance.co.uk if you are buying pet insurance for your pet.
My dog needed veterinary care 7 weeks ago and they have still not paid up although the claim has been approved.
The keep putting me off with one excuse after another. During the claim they delayed approving the claim by emailing me and asking if my dog had ever been insured with another vet, when that information had been given at the start of taking out insurance policy. They dragged this excuse out for 10 days or more even though I gave them the information right away.
They have given one excuse after another to avoid paying out. The latest one is that because I pay by DD they need to pay by cheque and they have no cheques, and are waiting for the company who issues the cheques to make some up.They asked for my bank details to pay the settlement in to my bank. After I gave them the details they told me it would be around 25 days more before it would be paid out. When I complained loudly, the man said he could put me further up the queue and there were a lot of people in front of me in the queue to be paid out, but I would now be paid in around 10 days and they only pay out a certain amount at a time. I said I was going to make a complaint about such appalling service and the man said therefore it would take longer for my money to be paid out as my complaint would have to be investigated. The ten days is not the day the money will be in my account. It may be issued then but it takes another 7 days for it to be processed.I just have no faith in this happening.
PLEASE do not use these bunch for pet incurance. Just google the complaints about them. I wish I had done so before taking insurance for my dog from them.

My cat was insured with them but unfortunately we had to have him put to sleep as he had a brain condition. However we put in a claim for £350 and got £53.00. It took a number of telephone calls to chase up claim. They first of all said no claim form received and we sent again via fax and said still not received. Eventually they confirmed they did have the form and it took over 3 months for them to pay the partial claim. They are cheap and now I now why.
We now have 2 pedigree cats and are insured with Pet Plan. Expensive but cheaper in the long run.0 -
Run out of cheques! That's appalling!
I worked in practice until last year and I remember phoning E&L about 12 months ago chasing payment on a claim that was being paid directly to the practice. And guess what - the delay then was also because they'd run out of cheques!
So either that's a standard line they trot out to cover their disorganisation and incompetence, or the person responsible for ordering cheques needs firing. They real are an absolute shower of excrement.0
