Quick surveyor question

HI
I posted yesterday about our situation, the good news is the builder has said our walls are fine...
Received an email of our solicitor today saying the property we are buying that we should have a surveyor out to check the loft that was done 15 years ago, previous to the people who live there now, they have no paperwork.... just a quick few questions, how much will this cost roughly, how long will it take to process once he has been, and would this not have come up in the original survey if there was a problem???
Many thank
sam

I didn't read your last post, but whether it came on your last survey depends on what level of survey you had.
You'd need to speak to some surveyors re cost - personally I'd prefer a builder or structural engineer to do it for me though, as surveyors tend to just cover their butts!0 -
Sigh!

edit : the only people who can answer these questions are the surveyors you contact and ask.0
