I really didn't want to I must admit, but I can't have DS feeling left out :o She said no one has said anything before! The majority do seem to have parents at home though! Infact I commented to a friend how many seem to have both parents there for drop off/pick up and things that need attending. I know I shouldn't feel bad against those who can and do have them there that often but I do :o

Hidden it's funny you should say that. As me and s friend were discussing this on Monday, as we both work, albeit part time but I have 7 things to attend over 3 weeks at the school! And I desperately want to, but it's so hard. And the guilt is awful. OH can't attend as he's away, grandparents live 45 mins away or work. I've been to the school for events 3 X today!!!!! So on my day off I've had very little time to actually do anything. And I feel Massive guilt as my mum never bothered herself to ever come to any of my events so I feel the absolute overwhelming need to go to everything but obviously I have to work it's so difficult. Well done on saying something!

I hope you've had a nice evening. I hate walking in the rain, dragging the children along. Hope you're cosy and warm in your pjs. X

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Yes you are a super fab mum xx

Schools need to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century and realise that the majority of mums aren't floating around sipping coffee they are doing that thing called working that pays the bills. Sorry, but it gets me angry and has done since my two were at school.

  • This is why I'm glad my three have all left school ! The amount of time and money that schools extort from parents is never ending (primary schools are the chief culprits) and you are made to feel guilty if you're not constantly contributing both

You are an excellent mum HI :A and you have no need to feel guilty about anything.

Perhaps yours was the quiet word needed to make a difference.

To be fair, the schools I've worked in are very aware that most parents work, to the point that we struggle to get enough parent helpers for trips etc.

  • Our school doesn't assume that those sorts of workshops or information sessions are going to be well attended. They're there for those who find them useful, but in a school of 200 students, we usually assume that maybe 20-40 parents will turn up? And that's the evening ones! I wouldn't bother with a workshop on healthy eating, your kids' diet is excellent as it is. It's just time wasting.

Morning lovely. Hope you're ok, have a good Thursday x
  • Thank you for all the lovely replies, sorry didn't pop in this morning have agreed to work earlier/finish earlier to do the cooking side of things so mobile staff are only needed for service (easier than showing a different person everyday what needs baking/what goes where etc)

School seem to be listening and are going to speak to me later, she said its never been said before and they usually have a good turn out because of the 'area' we live in work isn't usually an issue :o :rotfl:

Exoh mum stopped in this morning with some jigsaws (put away for xmas ;)) and gave me £20 to get her a school photo. I'm shocked she's never wanted one before.

I feel a bit lost being home at this time :rotfl: I have nothing to do really until I pick the smalls up from school.

Nationw!de emailed this morning confirming the lovely Mse'rs switch went through and I'll receive the £100 incentive within 10 working days. That will help massively so a big thank you to lovely mse people :D

Another lovely MSE'r sent me a voucher for washing powder so going to pick that up on my way home later (nice smelling washing is a big thing for me :o) So another thing that I'm very grateful for :D x
  • Sounds like a lovely day, enjoy the peace and quiet while you can :)

What a lovely gesture off the two mse'rs x
